Thanks
Thanksgiving is that time in the season where students get the week off (hopefully) and family gatherings are common, all to eat turkey and enjoy their time together (at least, that’s what the movies show). This year I’m spending my thanksgiving week without going to school and spending time with my immediate family; my mother, father, and me. During the day that is Thanksgiving, we might eat a turkey or eat pizza, but the idea that the family can gather together a few times every year and say “thanks” or “thank you” to one another can strengthen the bond between each family and, in this case, my own family. The mutual feeling of just showing your appreciation to your parents, or vice versa, is something that is so special that it deserves its own event/holiday, hence Thanksgiving, and I certainly have a lot to be grateful for.

Giving
Thanksgiving is a holiday for joy, saying thanks, and giving to your family. However, there are other ways to give to many others. For example, donating food and clothing to your local charity is one way to celebrate the season. You could also volunteer as a minor or adult in certain activities, such as non-profit organizations that will be cleaning up the neighborhood/area and in environmentally-friendly places such as Zoo Miami and the Tropical Audobon Society., who each plan to preserve nature and the wildlife inside it. One final example is inviting friends, coworkers, or just other people that you know will be spending Thanksgiving alone, to show your appreciation and making them feel special, all of this to show how Thanksgiving should be a holiday where everyone is special and can be grateful for something in life.

That’s so thoughtful! Great advice, we need more kindness in the world.
